Archival Storage

When your archiving needs surpass the general records storage criteria, you need an extra level of protection for sensitive information. We have archive vaults to meet your storage needs.

We have three options in archive vaults to meet your specific needs for critical archiving of vital or historical material:

Archive Vault Type I

This option is for vital or historical paper documents, and/or those kept more than 10 years. The vault walls are 12” of poured, reinforced concrete. Fire sprinklers protect the documents. Each vault has its own HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) unit along with a Munter’s desiccant dehumidification system which allows a finite climate control range.

We also employ an electronic monitor and alarm system just for the environment, even though all the vault systems are also on our backup generator. The entrance is protected with a UL Class 350-4 Hour Fire Vault Door and an inner fire door. A combination dial on the vault and proximity reader tracks users and prevents unauthorized access.

Archive Vault Type II

In addition to the Type I features, this vault surpasses those features by offering an FM-200 fire suppression system. This vault is sufficient to protect any film (non-nitrate), Mylar, sepias, original artwork, x-rays, negatives or electronic/magnetic media.

Custom Archive Vaults

We have worked closely with our clients on occasions where they have specific needs and requirements that they just can’t get with other records storage firms. Our 750,000 square foot complex was part of Curtiss- Wright aircraft manufacturers and during World War II was used to build and test engines for heavy bombers such as the B-17 Flying Fortress and the B-29 Super Fortress. The engines were tested in the areas we now use for our archive vaults. These test rooms were designed to withstand the force of these massive engines exploding. You can rest assured that these rooms are built tough, and we can customize them to your specifications.
