What is On-Site Mobile Shredding?
On-site shredding (also frequently referred to as mobile shredding) is shredding that occurs at the pick-up location. This is made possible through the use of Allstate’s state-of-the-art shredding trucks, which have an industrial-grade shredding machine built directly into the vehicle.
How Does On-Site Shredding Work?
Our shredding trucks are capable of shredding thousands of pounds of paper in a single hour, and are durable enough to handle any forgotten rubber bands, staples, or paper clips. What this means for you is saved time – simply gather your documents together, and they can go in the shredder.
When you make an appointment for on-site shredding, you’ll specify a time and a location for the shredding. Your shredding technician will arrive, collect the items you’ve set aside for shredding, and directly load them into the shredder. One of the unique benefits of on-site shredding is that you can elect to watch the shredding as it happens, personally verifying that the documents have been satisfactorily destroyed.
When the process is complete, you’ll receive a Certificate of Destruction for your records, and the particles of paper will be directly transported to a trusted and secure recycling facility. There, any non-paper particles will be sorted out. Your destroyed documents will be washed of any traces of ink or other markings and re-purposed into new paper products.
On-Site Shredding: The Answer to Remote Work
The events of the first few months of 2020 have seen a change to home-based or remote work for many businesses, but the need for security does not diminish because the location has changed. If you or your employees must still produce and handle confidential information, on-site shredding provides a safe method of disposal for these papers.
